Sleep
Nora has slept through the night for the last two nights!!! My baby reference book (that was recommended to me by two wonderful mothers) said that if she is waking up at the same time every night, she has created a pattern of waking rather than actually being hungry. SO...I didn't get up to feed her starting on Monday night at 4:00AM. She wimpered for a few minutes and went right back to sleep until 6:00AM! 10:00 to 6:00 is absolutely wonderful. Hopefully in a couple more days she won't wake up at all until 6 or 7.

Weekend and Grandpa and Grandma's
This weekend Nora attended her first wedding. We stopped off in Dubuque to meet Andi and Libby at Amy and Dan's wedding. It was nice to see everyone. After some screaming in the car, Nora calmed down and we continued our journey to Grandpa and Grandma's in Cedar Falls.
This was Nora's first experience with G&G that she realized who was around her. She smiled numerous times for both grandparents. She truly seemed to enjoy herself. She especially enjoyed looking at herself in the mirror with Grandpa.

consistency
Nora has been very consistent today. She eats, poops, and then ten minute later: a huge blowout! We have gone through A LOT of diapers today. This is a day that makes me very thankful that I decided not to use cloth diapers ;-)
Brian is in the club
I have been puked on numerous times, but just once on my face. Brian has been welcomed into the club this evening as Nora puked on the top of his head. I was in the bathroom when I heard screams coming from the living room. Not from Nora, but from Brian. He was screaming, "Get it off! Get it off!" There was puke on the top of his head! Oh the joys of playing with a freshly fed baby!

Pretty basic B flat day. Cathy the cleaning lady came this morning and made our condo habitable again. Nora and I camped out in a friend's place while the cleaning was happening. Nora slept a lot today for some reason. Hopefully that will help her have restful sleep tonight. I'm thinking of trying to eliminate her night time feeding soon. It will prolly have to be after the holidays.
It is amazing how much we will do for a smile. I'm still not sure if the smiles are because of what we are doing or just because she happens to do it at the moment we are playing with her. I often see her smiling when sitting in her bouncy seat when I'm doing something else. I'm sure the smiling will turn into laughing soon and I can't wait to hear that!
We had a cookie exchange this evening. Nora did a great job while we were in the activity room for two hours. She really seems to enjoy being around groups of people. That must be genetic.

Doctor Interview
Today we interviewed a potential pediatrician. She was recommended to us by some friends of ours that have a one year old. The interview went very well. I was impressed...the only thing that struck me as being odd was that she goes by her middle name and just has her first name as an initial. This seemed a bit lawyerish. It wasn't like her first name was something to be embarrassed of: Mary. I could see if your name was something that no one could say or spell, but Mary? Oh well, the point of this is that we've found someone that I think we are going to like.
Sleepy time.

Dancing in the bouncy chair!
Nora is finally down for the night. Hopefully she will sleep as well as she did last night. I'm hoping not to hear from her until 5:00 AM. It was a big weekend for her and she had some decompressing to do today. On Friday she had her first round of shots (Diptheria, Polio, Tetnus, Whooping Cough, and Hepatitis). It was the most difficult thing I've had to do since her birth. I think I cried just as much as she did. That afternoon, I dropped her off at Nana and Papa's for her first sleep over while Brian and I partied it up at his Christmas party. Saturday was a recoup day. On Sunday, we visited Nora's new cousins: Ethan and Logan. Brian's cousin Andi and her husband were blessed with two HUGE little boys on December 10th around 5:00 PM. They both weighed around 6 pounds each. That is hard for me to believe as I could only carry 5 pounds of baby before she was ready to get out. I can't imagine twelve pounds of baby! After the big visit, we headed to the Remfrey's for the Goranson family Christmas. After all of that excitement, Nora was ready for a low key day today. She was so excited to stay at home that she smiled all morning. This was a first and many pictures were taken.
We are interviewing a new pediatrician tomorrow afternoon at St. Mary's. The drive to Waukesha is just getting to be too much.
Nora's got a Brand New Blog!
A time for new beginnings...at the age of 10 weeks, Nora is ready to start up her own blog! This will be the place to see all the latest happenings and photos of our little peanut!
