The big weigh in

Nicolas weighed in at 6 pounds 15.5 ounces yesterday at his one week check up. This was a huge gain considering he only weighed 6 lb. 7 oz. at our postpartum check up the previous Friday! This is a big departure from our experience with Nora's sluggish weight gain. The boobs are working their magic!

Nic is starting to keep his eyes open more often...especially at night! Last night was better, but the night before he was awake for three hours straight. All his wanted to do was look around and eat. Hopefully that won't happen again. It makes me SO tired!

Ice Skating

 
Dyanna took Nora ice skating last night at an outdoor rink in Bellevue. The Seattle Thunderbirds hockey team was making an appearance. Nora knows many of the players as Dyanna's family hosts one of the players, Jeremy. She has picked up ice skating quite quickly.

This is Jeremy, Nora's favorite Seattle Thunderbirds player. She can often be heard yelling, "Go Jeremy! You're a goal scorer!"

Jeremy lives with Dyanna and her family temporarily while playing on the Seattle team. It is the league that the pros get their players out of. Jeremy goes to high school in Kirkland while practicing and competing on the Thunderbirds. Nora has gone to at least a half dozen of his games so far.

Nora has a new brother!

It's official...Nora is now a big sister. Little baby Nicolas was born early Tuesday morning, and will be finally coming home in a few hours from now.

Nora was very excited to meet her brother for the first time yesterday afternoon.

Pretty Woman

Nora has really enjoyed her first few dance classes. Every night when I come home, she gets dressed up in her dance outfit, puts on her slippers, and asks me to "put on some music on the complitter" so that we can dance.

Nora is asleep on our bedroom floor, again. Her sleeping has been less dramatic lately, but she still prefers to end up on the blanket next to me on the floor. Thankfully, she isn't interrupting my sleep...the Little Man surely takes care of that!

I also wanted to let you know that our little girl's new favorite band is Queen. Yes you read that right, Queen. She knows all the words to Bohemian Rhapsody, Bicycle, and Under Pressure. We definitely have a singer on our hands! Every time we get in the car, she demands to hear Queen and Freddy. This is a big change from wanting to listen to The Magic Girls, a.k.a. The Indigo Girls. Amy and Emily's album got rave reviews from Nora as she knew all the words to that CD as well.
