ValentiMes

As we speak, Nora is on the floor 'signing' her name on her valentiMes to her friends at school. I love how she says the 'm' in valentimes. She and I folded all the Pooh cards in half and she put two stickers on the edges to keep them closed. She is very excited about giving them to her friends tomorrow.

I'm not so excited about the kids at school tomorrow and I'm sure Nora's daycare teachers are feeling the same. I can't wait to pick her up tomorrow afternoon on a roaring sugar high.

I too am dreading Valentine's Day at school...except at the high school. Feb. 14 may be the cruelest day for all the kids who aren't getting flowers delivered by the cheerleaders (sick sick sick fundraiser). Last year my autistic kiddo sent a flower to himself because he wanted to be part of the fun - and it didn't get delivered. The fallout from that lasted well into March and resurfaced again about a week ago.

I hope you pick up a sugar crazed child, who has a smile from ear to ear and enjoyed every minute of her Valentine's Day party! The innocence of a child is what makes holidays (even these silly ones) fun.

So how was Nora's day? I'm sure her valenti"M"es were a hit with the kids. Our school district had an in-service day today partly so they didn't have to deal with the haves and have-nots of this bizarre holiday.
