Nora is officially in her "terrible twos" phase of life. Just in time for our trip to the Midwest, she has started giving us an attitude for most everything. "Nora, please put on your shoes" used to be greeted with "OK Mommy!" Now even "Nora, here's a bowl of ice cream!" is received with an "UNH" and a quick turn of the head to the side.
Brian and I are having to switch off and on because we both have a short fuse for this type of behavior. One of us will come storming out of one room or another exclaiming, "Your turn" after a short period of time playing with Nora.
This too shall pass, I know, I know, but WHEN???

When you come visit we could put all three two year olds in the basement and let them attack one another with all the two-ness they can muster up. The boys could use a new face to argue with :)
What do you mean argue? There will be no words. Most of the 'arguing' reduces to swatting, hitting, and even the ever favorite biting. Mmmm..love those teeth marks on the boys.
Ah...Gary (now 4 1/2) has only now started the back talking and snotty behavior. Brendan, on the other hand, has reached his terrible twos in the form of constant squealing, throwing, hitting, and dropping to the floor in a tantrum when he doesn't get his way. Gary was never like this. It sucks because the boys are going through terrible two's at the same time, even though only Brendan is 2!
I can't wait to see you, Nora, terrible 2's and all! A child has to go through this stage to have a good sense of who they are, how to deal (or no deal!) with other people, and basically to make their parents love them more when they've finally made it through this passageway! This, too, shall pass, but not quick enough at times! How well I remember!
