Noraisms

My most favorite Noraisms of the moment are the kind that make me laugh every time she says them! The one used most often right now is "finger nail hanger". This means she has a hang nail. I've stopped saying hang nail myself because it is so much fun to say "finger nail hanger"!

The other is every time she sees the letters N, O, R, or A, she yells out (ok, so most everything she says right now is in a yelling voice), "A, Like I have an A!"

The other fun story of late is about Nora's favorite assistant at pre-school. On the way to pre-school on Wednesday, Nora proclaimed that she wanted a tongue ring, just like Jenna. Yup, our daughter knows what a tongue ring is! I explained that a tongue ring is only for grown ups. She asked me why I didn't have one and I told her it hurts too much for me to get one. Right when we got to school she asked Jenna if she could touch her tongue ring. That lead to a whole other discussion about not being able to put your hands in someone elses mouth. Nora followed that up with, "But Georgia (the 10 month old that shares our nanny) puts her hands in Dydy's (our nanny) mouth all the time!" So we had to modify the statement to only babies put their hands in peoples' mouths. We explain things all day around here!

The 'why' question is in full force around here. Most of the time Nora knows the answer to all the 'why's' she asks and is just trying to make conversation. So my canned answer has become, "You tell me why". Of course, she usually knows the answer.

We were driving today and Logan was talking and asking questions about Baby Nicolas. The one that we found the most funny, and could not answer, was this:

Does Baby Nicolas like pork?

I said, "I'm sure he's never tried pork."
Response: "Oh, well maybe he should try it."

About spelling, the boys can each spell their names as well as each other's. If, for instance, Ethan hears Logan spell E-T-H-A-N, it's an all out war. They get crazy jealous of someone else spelling THEIR name. Often there are tears involved. Logan actually shook his finger at me yesterday and told me not to talk to him like that when I spelled his name! Somehow I think it's unfair that they are going to be three for 366 days!!!!
