White Trash

Ok, I know that isn't politically correct, but that is the way Nora's room is looking these days. I've put a blanket over her window in an effort to get her to sleep longer in the morning. It helped this morning as she slept until 5:30. Hopefully she will sleep a little bit longer tomorrow morning as well. I'd like to try to get her closer to 6:00. I'm not going to give her anything to eat or drink until 5:45 tomorrow morning to slowly move her breakfast later as well. I'm hoping that the combination of the two things will help.

The other good thing about her sleep is that she is going to bed between 7:00 and 7:15 now without any protest. Logic would say that the earlier I put her to bed the earlier she will wake up. Everything I've read negates this notion and says that she will probably sleep later. I'll let you know if all those researchers are right! Let's sure hope so!

She was wonderful this morning as we got ready for school. She played like an angel in her bedroom with her books while I got ready in peace. It made it so much easier than trying to have her in the bathroom with me. It's the little things that make things easier! Good luck to those of you that have number two coming!

After being up for 48 hours, we sure hope you got a good night's sleep Daddy!

It won't be long before you are going to have to do everything you can to get her up in the morning - especially if she is anything like her Daddy :-)

Good job in playing nice while Mommy gets ready for work, Nora!

The researchers hit it dead on in this house. If Ana stays up past her 7/7:30 bedtime she is up by 6:45, but if she's in bed between 6:30-7:30, she sleeps like an angel until 7:30 or 8:00. Never could figure it out, but I'm not messing with it!

Same thing with naps.....

Only problem is that when Brian is home he gets home from work at about 6:00 or 6:30. That doesn't give them much time to see each other. I'm sure going to enforce the rule while he is gone! It's working so far.

I agree with Ana's Mommy...we are in bed at 7:00 (with very few exceptions) and both boys are asleep, or at least willing to play in their cribs, until 6:30 am. Once in a while, on the weekends, we even get a 7:00 wake up time.

Don't feel bad about a blanket on the window, we have a black shower curtain block the light in our bedroom.
